Bringing My “Smog Trio” Artwork to Life with My Own AI Studio App – Post 4> repost

As a developer, there’s no better feeling than using a tool you built to create something cool. For a while now, I’ve had this piece of digital art I created called the “Smog Trio.” It’s a series of three static images, and I’ve always imagined them with a bit of life—maybe the smog swirling gently or the lights flickering. The problem was, I’m a coder, not a motion graphics artist.

That’s where my latest project comes in.

A few weeks ago, I used AI Studio to build a new app called AI Video Animator. The idea was to make something incredibly simple. Unlike my other app where you describe the animation, this one is all about one-click magic. You upload a photo, hit a button, and the AI (powered by Gemini) analyzes the image and animates it for you with subtle, cinematic motion. No prompts needed.

So, I decided to put my “Smog Trio” to the test.

I opened the app and uploaded the first piece of the series. I just saw the static image preview on the screen. I took a breath and clicked that big “Animate Photo” button.

The app’s loading screen popped up, showing me messages like “Choreographing the motion…” and “Rendering the video frames…”. After about a minute, the video player appeared.

And it was perfect.

The AI had added this slow, subtle zoom, and the smoggy elements in the foreground seemed to drift ever so slightly. It didn’t turn it into a cartoon; it just gave it atmosphere. It was exactly what I had imagined. AI also added a music dark synthwave track!

I was so thrilled I immediately ran the other two pieces through the animator. Each time, the AI interpreted the image and added a unique, subtle motion that perfectly matched the artwork’s vibe.

Seeing my own artwork come to life using an app I built myself in Google’s AI Studio was incredibly rewarding. It’s amazing that we can now create tools that act as creative partners, taking our static creations and giving them a new dimension of life with just a single click.

I can’t wait to see what else I can animate.
