What could you do less of?
Daily writing prompt
Comparing myself to others. Yes, to other people.
It feels like a loop I can’t break. It starts small—comparing my hair, my height, my weight—but it spirals so quickly.
It bleeds into the things that hurt the most. I look around and I’m comparing my lifestyle to theirs. I’m comparing my bank account to theirs. I’m staring at the families they have built and comparing it to the family I don’t have yet.
Even when I try to be grateful, I end up comparing my blessings to someone else’s, wondering why theirs seem shinier.
It is so hard to stop doing this. It is exhausted work, measuring my worth against everyone else, but I haven’t figured out how to put down the ruler yet.
